My ancient remembered name is Ki Eire with strong ties to the Island of Destiny, Ireland My ancestral roots are Dalriada Scotland.
Dalriada, was a Gaelic kingdom that encompassed the western seaboard of Scotland and northeastern Ireland, on each side of the North Channel. At its height in the 6th and 7th centuries, it covered what is now Argyll in Scotland and part of County Antrim in Northern Ireland. The kingdom consisted of four main kindreds or tribes: the Cenél nGabráin, based in Kintyre; the Cenél nÓengusa, based on Islay; the Cenél Loairn, who gave their name to the district of Lorn; and the Cenél Comgaill, who gave their name to Cowal. The hillfort of Dunadd is believed to have been its capital.
The people of Dál Riata were known as the Scoti and probably originated in northeast Ireland. They established a kingdom in Argyll and part of northern Ireland. The last King of Dál Riata was Kenneth I, who went on to gain control of the Pictish crown in 834 and merged the crowns of the Scots and the Picts to form a single kingdom, Alba, which is what we would today call Scotland.
The kingdom of Dál Riata was small compared to the large Pictish kingdom, and the kings of Dál Riata found it increasingly difficult to maintain control in Ulster. After the disastrous Battle of Moira in 637, Irish Dál Riata lost possession of its Scottish lands. During the 8th century, the rival Dál nAraidi had overrun Irish Dál Riata, though the area retained its name well into the 13th century.
The Hutchison lineage is a sept of the Clan MacDonald. The ancestry of the Clan MacDonald can be traced back to the 12th century in the Highlands and Western Isles of Scotland, with its origins rooted in Somerled, a powerful figure of mixed Irish and Norse descent who ruled the Kingdom of Argyll and the Isles. Somerled's grandson, Donald of Islay, is traditionally regarded as the progenitor of Clan Donald, the main branch of the Macdonalds. The clan's lineage is said to extend from Donald, the son of Ragnall mac Somairle, also known as Ranald, who was the son of Somerled. The clan's history is deeply intertwined with the region, and the Macdonalds held significant power in the west Highlands and Hebrides for nearly 400 years. The clan's influence and presence in the Scottish Highlands are thus firmly established from the 12th century onward.
